Mrs. Corrie Bell Thomas Davis, 64, widow of William S. Davis, of 1525 Maple Street died at the residence at 8:15 a.m. today after an illness of six months and a serious illness of one week.
Mrs. Davis was born in Lykes land, Richland County, daughter of Jesse and Mary Davis Thomas. She had lived in Columbia for the past 58 years.
She is survived by two sisters, Miss Amie Thomas and Mrs. E. S. Miscally, both of Columbia, two sons, Wadsworth Davis and William V. Davis of Columbia, one granddaughter, Carol T. Davis, three nieces, Miss Margaret Miscally and Miss Mary Ellen Wescott of Columbia and Mrs. Owen Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., five nephews, Vincent Miscally, Lloyd Wescott of Columbia, Robert J. Wescott of Spartanburg, William Thomas of Columbia and L. L. Thomas of Dania, Fla.
Funeral services will be at the Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, conducted by her pastor Dr. Wallace D. Gleaton, Washington Street Methodist Church, assisted by Dr. A. L. Gunter, a former pastor.
Active pallbearers will be John Davis, Claude P. Davis Jr., James Davis, Harry Campbell, Parker Davis and Howard Hunnicutt.
Honorary pallbearers will be L. O. Gilmore, Dexter Martin, Mallard Bagnal, T. Alex Heise, W. K. Dawson, William H. Rawlinson, Bennie Rawlinson, Wade H. Rawlinson, Wade H.
