She married Frederick Pate in early 1934, and gave birth to twins (Jimmy and Patsy) the following November. She was a great beauty in her youth, and although she was a loving and kind-hearted person, her life was unhappy, tumultuous, and short. She died at age 49 after a long and painful battle with bone cancer.
