"The Colonel began his career as a country lawyer in 1854."
1865-1866: Elected to the State House of Representatives from Laurens County."
I have a copy of wife Eliza's Confederate Widow's Pension Application. Within the application, it states that her husband, Colonel Beaufort Watts Ball, was the Adjutant General for Kershaw's Brigade, South Carolina Cavalry. He enlisted in 1861 and served until 09 April 1865, when he surrendered at Appomatox Courthouse, Virginia. The application states Eliza was born 06 February 1848 and married Beaufort Watts Ball on 22 November 1867. Beaufort died 27 March 1902.
Beaufort Watts Ball was the son of John Ball (died in Laurens County in 1834) and Narcissa Watts.
