William "Bill" Coleman Abernethy, Jr. 49, of Wilmington, NC, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center from complications of cancer.
He was born in Forsyth Co., NC on September 18, 1962, the son of Nancy Abernethy Norton and the late William Coleman Abernethy, Sr.
Bill was a graduate of Hoggard High School, Class of 1980, a member of Pine Valley Baptist Church and was a welder by occupation. Surviving is his mother, Nancy Norton and step-father, Ben Norton of Wilmington, NC; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Liles of Wilmington, NC; also many dear friends that he loved so much.
