MISS BETH RINEHART BECOMES BRIDE OF MR. EARL COX
Double-Ring Ceremony Solemnized In The First Methodist Church
Stock, gladioli, and gleaming cathedral tapers, white against a background of green simalax, made a bridal setting Saturday, February 17, 1951, at 6:30 pm at the First Methodist Church in West Monroe, for the marriage of Miss Beth Harper Rinehart, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Louie Ford Rinehart, and Earl Cox of Cleveland, Ohio, son of Mr. & Mrs. Dan Cox of Downsville. The Rev. R. H. Staples officiated in the double-ring ceremony and while the guests were being seated by Roy C. Brooks and Shady Wall, Mrs. Jack Willis at the organ played a program of nuptial music and accompanies Mrs. Clyde Sanders who sang "Through the Years" and "Because."

She was a retired teacher with 20 years experience, having taught at Crosley Elementary, Logtown Elementary, West Monroe Junior High School and West Monroe High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she was a longtime member of the church choir and Fellowship Sunday School. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Ouachita Teachers Association, ADK Teachers Sorority, Bobashelas Book Club, American Mothers Club, Daughters of the American Revolution Chief Tusquahoma Chapter, Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and Kappa Delta Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cox; and sister, Louise Rinehart "Ease" Brooks. Survivors include her children, Kenneth Earl Cox and wife Cherri and Mary Beth Cox Smith and husband Steve; grandchildren, Steven Shawn Smith, Benjamin Hinson Smith, Daniel Earl Cox and wife Kati, Kendall Harper Cox and Sarah Katherine Cox; great-grandchildren, Mary Madison Elizabeth Smith, Landry Joseph Smith and Gabriel Earl Cox; and beloved nephew, Roy C. "Cleve" Brooks Jr.

Pallbearers will be Connor Brooks, Christopher Brooks, Billy Golson Jr., Ricky Cox, Mickey Cox and Ronnie Poindexter. Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Ford.

Special appreciation to the following caregivers: Cherrí Cox, Roxanna McDowell, Phyllis Bryant, Stephanie "Denise" Sasser, Diane Funderburk and the nursing staffs of Oasis Hospice Health Care and Thompson Home Health.
