"Jacob Morse Porter, 72, 3807 Rhine St. (Windmill Village), Sarasota, died Friday in Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born in Aurora, S.D., and moved to Sarasota in August, 1971, from Washington, D.C., where he had lived 29 years. He was employed by Hipple Printing Co., Pierre. S.D., for 26 years and then moved to Washington, D.C. where he retired from General Services Administration after 29 years. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of WWI; a 51 year Mason with membership in Hiram Lodge 23 A.F.&A.M., Pierre, S.D., and Anacostia Lodge 21 A.F. & A.M., Washington, D.C., and American Legion Post 8, Pierre, S.D.
He leaves his wife, Marjorie Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Becker of Alma,Kan., Mrs. Patricia Turner of Derby, Kan., and Mrs. Marjorie Starrett of Annapolis, Md.; a son, Charles Porter of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Harry Porter of Aberdine, S.D., Frank Porter of Pierre, William Porter of Ft. Pierre, and Charles Porter of Pierre, S.D.; a sister, Mrs. Mina O'Rielly of Seattle, Wash.; thirteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Falls Church, Va.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Heart Fund. Toale Brothers' Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave., is in charge of arrangements."
