Funeral services for Van Beasley of Jonesboro will be held at 3:00PM, June 9, 2012 at Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Beasley entered into rest with his Lord and Savior on June 7, 2012 after a brief illness.

Mr. Beasley was a life-long resident of Jackson Parish, forty of those years spent as a law enforcement officer. He served twenty years as chief deputy of Jackson Parish and twenty years as the sheriff of Jackson Parish. He loved the people of Jackson Parish and lived to serve and protect them. He loved riding horses, water-skiing, and most of all riding the many beloved Harley Davidson motorcycles he owned throughout the years. He also loved and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife, Linda Ware Beasley, daughter, Vanette Sears and her husband Mike of Caddo Mills, Texas, step-daughter, Phyllis Lawrence of Shreveport, step-son, Philip Lawrence of New Orleans, six grandchildren, one step-grandaughter, ten great grandchildren, and one step-great grandaughter, one sister, Katie Gatlin of Jonesboro, and one niece, Kathyvan Osborne.

Visitation will be June 8, 2012, from 4:00PM to 9:00PM at Edmonds Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 3: 00PM with internment at the Jonesboro Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

Memorials may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or the the American Cancer Association.
