Seaborn served as a Sergeant in Company "B" of the 17th ( Griffiths ) Arkansas Infantry Regiment, CSA commanded by Lieutenant Colonel John Griffith during the Civil War. He enlisted at Fort Smith, Arkansas on 20 Oct 1861. He was captured at Iuka, Mississippi on 5 Oct 1862 and was paroled on 14 Oct 1862. Silas Turnbo stated in The White River Chronicles that Seaborn was killed by "Bushwhackers" in Marion County in 1862.
