Mary Ann Jackson Brotherton
07 February 1851 - 09 January 1935
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Brotherton, 83 years old, a resident of Joplin twenty-seven years, who died at 1:15 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Allie Hindman, 1125 Range Line, with whom she lived, will be conducted at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Assembly of God church.
The Rev. S. K. Biffle, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in I. O. O. F. cemetery at Marionville.
The Funeral cortege will leave the Lanpher mortuary at 11:30 o'clock tomorrow morning for Marionville,
and burial services will be conducted there at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Six grandchildren will act as pallbearers.
Mrs. Brotherton was born in Webster county, Missouri.
She was a member of the Mentor Christian church near Springfield.
Also surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Anna Hindman, 120 East Twentieth street, and Mrs. Lucy Stroles of Horton, Mo.: three sons, James Brotherton, living on East Seventh street, George A. Brotherton, 2107 Murphy avenue, and Homer L. Brotherton, Twenty-ninth and Joplin streets; two brothers, Henderson Jackson of Marionville and Thomas Jackson of Aurora; twenty-six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

I believe Marion J. Underwood & Lulu/Lucy E. Brotherton Underwood married, had two children, separated, then divorced and both remarried. I believe in 1910 they are separated, I think this may be him. I haven't found her yet, but their children are with her parents.
