Suggested edit: BRISTOL- Orel (Roseth) Kruse 93 of Bristol and formally of Lily died on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Janet Miller will officiate. Inurnment will be at Hillside Cemetery near Lily. Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no visitation. Orel Luvia Roseth, the oldest of Gertrude and William Roseth's eleven children, was born on Thursday, April 27, 1916 in Lily and baptized in the Lily Lutheran Church. She graduated from Lily High School in 1934 and worked for Della and Kay Olson before moving to California to be with her family who had recently moved there due to the Great Depression. On October 3, 1936 Orel married Marvel G. Kruse in Huntington Park, California. In the spring of 1939 they moved back to Lily and began farming. They farmed until her husband's death in 1966, when she moved to Denver, Colorado. She finished raising her family there and moved to Puerto Rico in 1996 to live with her son Keith. In 2005, she moved back to South Dakota to live with son, Les. Mrs. Kruse enjoyed sewing, visiting family, playing cards, and especially traveling. Orel passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 14 days. Survivors include two sons, Keith Kruse of St. Louis, MO and Les Kruse of Webster, SD; one daughter, Nancy (Robert) Porter of Webster, SD; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grand-children; and two great-great-grand-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons; Jim and David, one grandson; Kurt, four brothers; Jim, Harold, Ronald, and Jon, and two sisters; Billie Gae and Beryl.
