Louis L Goemann (Gohmann) was born in Einbeck, Hanover, Germany. Louis, at age 16 years, arrived at the Port of Baltimore, Maryland manifested on the ship "Adolphine". The final destination for Louis, a younger sister, Lena Louise (Greman), and a younger brother, A., was Cincinnati, Ohio.
Louis joined the 9th Ohio Infantry Volunteers and was wounded at the Battle of Missionary Ridge/Chickamauga. He was injured (family lore says that he was in a tree and the tree was hit by a cannonball)
Louis was a barkeep after the war in Cincinnatti. Louis was a Baker by trade.
Louis settled in Texas in 1872 and married Sarah Jane Ford of McKinney, Texas. They had six children. Sarah Jane died in 1881. Louis married Sarah Jane's sister Caroline Ford in 1881.
Louis married Ellen Mariah Luce in Dennison, Texas in 1888 and they had three children.
Louis married Bettie Armstrong Henkel in Dennison, Texas in 1912.
Louis died in Kingsville, Kleberg Co, Texas in 1922, and Bettie died in 1939. They are buried next to one another in the Kingsville Cemetery.
