Arthur Pryor Webb owned a barber shop in Cleburne during the 1900- teens. He sold the barber shop and opened a grocery store. A strike by the Railroad Workers Union ( major industry for Cleburne) caused the workers to seek credit from Arthur Pryor. Many were unable to repay their debts thus forcing Arthur Pryor to close the grocery store. He later opened a cafe. In 1919, Arthur Pryor moved from the country to Cleburne, purchasing a house at 724 West Henderson (at Douglas Street) from a Mr. Bratcher.
