During WWII Joseph J. Julius served in the Army Air Corps. He was in the 716th Bomb Squadron, of the 449th Bomb Group, stationed at Grottaglie Airfield, Eastern Italy. He was part of crew 6-4 that flew B-24 Liberators on missions into Austria, Southern Germany, and the Romanian oil fields. After the war Joe worked as a manager at Sears, where he met Dorothy.
