Was born in Knox County, Ohio, September 29, 1823 and died August 4, 1889.
At the age of 23 years, he married Miss Mary Frazier, who survives him. By this union there were fourteen children, nine of whom are still living.
He moved to Illinois and located in Loudon City in 1847, where he worked at the blacksmith trade till the year 1851, when he moved to a farm near Greenland in the same township, where he resided till the time of his death.
