DeLene was the adoptive daughter of Edwin Neher Mortensen and Georgia Moline Westover Mortensen. She was the oldest of 5 children. Later in life she was reunited with her biological family as well. Family was extremely important to DeLene and she was so happy to have an adoptive and biological family that she was able to be close to.
DeLene was a faithful servant to the Heavenly Father as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived life serving others and always searching for a way to help others. She was often seen in the company of children, who seemed to flock to her for play, companionship, and nurturing.
She was a licensed practical nurse, caring for many special needs children during the course of her career.
She will be missed deeply by those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave. in Blackfoot. The family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
