Allen W. Anderson of Carrollton, Michigan, beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at the Cartwright Care Center. Age 85 years. He was born October 15, 1926, in Saginaw, the son of the late Andrew and Emma (Wahl) Anderson. He married Bonita J. Butzin on May 2, 1953; she predeceased him August 31, 2004. He graduated from Arthur Hill Technical School. He served with the US Navy during World War II, and with the Navy Reserves throughout the Korean War, being honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1988 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed Tiger Baseball, Saginaw Spirit Hockey, and building dog houses. Surviving are one son, David Anderson, one daughter and her husband, Karen and Roy Bourdow; grandchildren, Matthew Bruske, Charrie and her husband Brandon Larkin, Anthony Bourdow and his fiancée, Megan Trojanowski, Michael Bourdow and Cecelia Bourdow; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Mace Larkin, and Anthony Bourdow Jr.; one brother, Andrew Anderson; two sisters, Alice LaBeau and Betty Songalewski; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by another brother, Arthur Anderson. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and then on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Carl T. Otto will officiate with military burial under the auspices of the Birch Run VFW Post #7542 in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
