Catherine Mary Kavanaugh, 94, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Washington Nursing Center.

Born June 2, 1913, in Corning, she was the daughter of John and Bridget (Walsh) McCauley.

She was educated in Corning schools, was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Altar Society, Daviess County Right To Life, auxiliary member St. Peter-All Saints St. Vincent DePaul Society and the National Conference of Catholic Women. She was a recipient of the Simon Brute Society Award of the Diocese of Evansville. She was an avid Barr-Reeve Viking and Indiana Pacer fan.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-laws, Mary Kay and Dave Andres of Indianapolis and Charlotte Ann and Jerry Lewinski of St. Louis, Mo; Eight sons and daughter-in-laws John and Donna Kavanaugh of Lee Summit, Mo., Lee and Irma Kavanaugh, Louis Jr. and Liz Kavanaugh, David and Cleta Kavanaugh and Albert Kavanaugh, all of Montgomery, and Tim and Sue Kavanaugh, Steve Kavanaugh and Mark and Clara Kavanaugh, all of Indianapolis; 27 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren.

Her husband Louis Kavanaugh Sr., whom she married July 4,1936, died March 5, 1990. Three sisters, Dorothy Mahan, Sister Charlotte Ann McCauley and Helen Doyle; one brother, Charlie McCauley; two infant brothers and one sister; and two great-grandchildren are also deceased.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebratedon Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St.Peters Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St.Peters Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 P.M. at All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg with a Rosary at 3:00 P.M. and on Saturday from 9 to 10 A.M. at All Saints.
