"Edwin was born 9 Aug 1896 (although his military papers listed 1898 as his year of birth) in Prescott, Adams, Iowa to Lewis C. and Abbie J. (Brown) Williams. He was brother to Arthur, Lewis Melton, Carl, Ann Blanche Amdor, George Elsworth, Lydia Lenah Barker Lucas, Edna, Gertrude, Lottie Rather, and Reva Ruth Gillespie. Edwin was twin to Edna who died in infancy. Edwin served as a Corporal Company K of the 168th during World War I. During the war he was wounded, shot in the foot. He later married Anne Wilson. They had no children. Edwin died 3 Aug 1975 in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa
