Shirley A. Musal TILLSON- Shirley A. Musal, 82, of Rose Ave. died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her home. She was born in High Falls Sept. 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Earl and Frances Dunn Stokes and was a lifelong area resident. She was a banking executive for the former Inter County Savings Bank in New Paltz, retiring in 1981. She also was a self-employed business owner and operated SAMS Bookkeeping in Tillson for many years. Shirley was a loving wife and mother with a wonderful zest for life. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her community. She enjoyed gardening, arranging flowers, cooking, and was an avid animal lover. She was a member of the Rosendale Red Hatters, the Eastern Star since 1955, and a founding member of the Marbletown First Aid Unit. She also was the secretary/treasurer for the Rosendale Plains Cemetery Association for many years and was currently serving on the Board of Directors. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Theodore O. Musal Sr., whom she married July 23, 1950 in the Friends Community Church in Tillson, a daughter, Deborah Lee Bevier and her husband James of Seattle, Wash., a son Theodore O. Musal Jr. of Tillson, two sister-in-laws, Emily Stokes of High Falls, Anita Parlow of Los Angeles, Cali., a brother-in-law, George Musal of Syracuse. Also survived by four grandchildren, Scott Bevier of Brooklyn, Jeffrey Musal of Lake Katrine, Kyle Musal of Philadelphia, Pa., Stephanie Musal of Pottstown, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard O. Stokes died previously. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Following the funeral service friends are invited to join the family at the Postage Inn Restaurant in Tillson in accordance to Shirley's wishes. Burial will be in Rosendale Plains Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Ulster County, 34 Broadway, Kingston, N.Y. or to Ulster County ASPCA, 20 Wiedy Road, Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
