Leslie H Phillip,a native of North Abington,died Saturday June 26, 2004.
He was the husband of Elizabeth M.(Coe)Phillips of Taunton.Born in North Abington, Mr.Phillips was educated in Abington Schools. He was employed as a silversmith at New England Sterling in North Attleboro for more than 30 years before his retirement. Previously he was employed at Reed and Barton Silversmiths.
Mr. Phillips was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II Attaining the rank of staff sergeant. He served in Northern
France,Rhineland,Ardennes and Central Europe Campaigns receiving three bronze stars and one Silver star.He also received a good conduct medal, American Defense Service Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Medal.
He was also a member of VFW Post 611 and the 26th Divivion Association.
He attended the Union Congregational Church of Taunton.
Mr Phillips was the son of the late Frederick D.Phillips and Hazel E.Blaney.
Besides his wife, He is survived by two daughters,Carolyn M.Gallagher of Attleboro and Janice L Anderson of Taunton;
a brother, Raymond of Carver,six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Wesley L and William F. , Clarence E., Donald A., Clyde A. , and a sister Beatrice E.US Army, World War II
