Obituary - Mrs. Mary Alexander, aged 58, of 28 Oak Street, Patchogue, mother of three sons in military service, died last Thursday in Southside Hospital, Bay Shore, where she had been a patient for one week.
Born in Patchogue, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Satterley, she had been a lifelong resident of this village. She was twice a widow, first of Edward Payne, and more recently, James Alexander.
Mrs. Alexander leaves seven children all by her first marriage. They are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph H. Butler of New York and Mrs. Lucille Zegel of Patchogue; and five sons, Charles F. Payne of Patchogue, Kenneth Payne of Yonkers, and three in the Army, Harry J. Payne, Elwood Payne and Orville Payne. She also leaves two brothers, G. Fred Satterley of Patchogue and Chester Satterley of Olean, NY.
The funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the R.M. Sharp Funeral Home, Railroad Avenue, Patchogue, the Rev. James A. Ker, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Patchogue, officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
