Remmie was born to the parents of Carl Loadvickous Stollens/Stolns and his wife Marie Theresia Rapalier on 4 March 1884 in Moererke, Belgium.


Remmie and his family all immigrated from Moerkerke, Belgium in 1889. He had one sister Emily Mae Stolns, and brothers Jules, Kamel Stolns and another brother Alphonse P.L. Foster Stollens. Their name was spelled Stalens in Belgium, but after arriving in America it was changed to Stolns. Census records spell his name Stolns. His gravestone is recorded under the name of Stolns.


His first wife was May M Ostrom (Stolns). Remmie and May had three children together, Emily Mae, Thomas Richard (he went by the name Richard) and a brother Ernest Alphonse who served in the U.S. Army as a private


After his divorce from May, he married Nellie Marie Mundt. They had one child together, Verla Louise Stolns.


After his divorce from Nellie, he married Cora Edna Ault. Remmie passed 4 Nov 1958 at the age of 74 on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado.


Remmie is buried in Mount View Cemetery in Boulder Colorado with his last wife, Cora.
