Alonzo Clarence Bradley, the son of William and Catherine M. Bradley, was born in Laclede County, December 18, 1867, and departed this life August 4, 1940, after a lingering illness. When he was a young boy, the family moved to a farm in the Pleasant Hill neighborhood, where he grew to manhood. He Spent the remainder of his life in the Wheatland, MO community.
While teaching at the Pine school, he became acquainted with Bertha Nora Pine and they were united in marriage, September 30, 1987. To this union was born two children, Mae and Burke. His wife prodded him in death on March 19, 1938. since this time he has made his home with his daughter.
He is survived by the two children, Mae Lafaver and Burke Bradley, four grandchildren, Margaret, J.B. and Frances Lafaver and Evelyn Beryl Bradley: one brother, John of Upland, California and a host of relatives and friends.
In the community he was a quiet, law-abiding citizen, interested in the community welfare, always loyally supporting the religious and educational institutions. He served as a member of the Board of Education as its treasurer, for a long time before the establishment of the high school.
Early in life he professed faith in Christ, and united with the Baptist church. He was ever loyal to the Christian faith.
