1st Sergeant - Company "B", 45th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Monroe County, Georgia, "Rutland Volunteers".
"he died of typhoid fever while in the Confederate Army. Became sick in camp near Richmond, VA. Was carried to hospital in Richmond, VA where he died".
He also has a grave marker in the Hardin Cemetery in Forsyth, Georgia.
