Candis Adams, age 94 of Cincinnati passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012. She was born in Opelika, Alabama on February 11, 1918 the daughter of Gus and Celeste (Graham) Preston. She was a member of Greater St. John AME Zion Church. Candis was an avid cross-word puzzle solver, loved reading the Bible and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchildren. She was married to Eugene Adams and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Harris of Cincinnati and Carrie Jean Taylor of Cincinnati; two sons, William Clifford Taylor of Cincinnati and Eddie L. Mallory of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Andrea Famble, Thealonious Taylor, Latif Taylor, Nikki D. Taylor, and Douglas Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Desiree, Ahmad J., Terrell, and Regina; six great-great-grandchildren, Ahmad, Ahmya, Karlie, Joseph, Cingi, and Gque; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Eugene Adams; four brothers, Emmitt, Bennie, Gus, and James; two sisters, Ruth Pringle and Lillie Snipes.

Funeral service will be held at the Greater St. John AME Zion Church, 425 Forest Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229 on, Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael J. Posey officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
