Mr. Curtis L. Coleman died on February 20, 2007. Born in Sulphur Springs, TX on August 10, 1939 to Mr. and Mrs. Ennis and Vergie Haney Coleman. Although retired, he worked for many years in the construction business as a welder. Curtis was an avid golfer who truly loved the game. From 1962 until 1964 he served our country proud as a soldier in the U.S. Army where he received an Honorable Discharge. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby (Bob) Coleman; Curtis is survived by his son Phillip Coleman of Sulphur Springs; brothers Donnie Coleman, Tommy Coleman, Larry Coleman, Joe Don Coleman, all of Sulphur Springs, TX; sisters Rachel Bassham of Sulphur Springs, Mamie Daugherty of Gilmer; and Aliece Springer to whom he was married for 22 1/2 years. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 in the Chapel of West Oaks Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. The pallbearers include: Larry Layton, Donnie Coleman, James Bassham, Mickey Ballard, Bobby Ballard, and Wes Donica. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 22, 2007 from 6 - 8 p.m. A Military Honors Interment will take place in the Shirley Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, TX.
