STORF Edward Joseph, age 92, of Ridgefield, formerly of Guttenburg on Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Edward was a veteran of WWII
where he served in the U.S. Navy
as Chief Petty Officer on PT boats.
He graduated from Stevens Institute
of Technology and worked for over
40 years with the Bendix Corporation.
He headed the Research and Development
division of Bendix and supervised various
ground breaking projects,
including the development of instrumentation
for Boeing navigation and the first
Apollo mission for NASA. Edward will long
be remembered for his active participation
in community and church activities.
A pillar of St. Matthew's R.C. Church since 1943,
he was President of the Holy Name Society,
Secretary of the Nocturnal Society,
a Eucharistic Minister,
Lector,
3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus,
a faithful member of St. Matthew's choir
with his wife Louise,and the Bereavement Committee.
Among his many activities he especially enjoyed fishing and small game hunting with his dog, family and friends.

Edward was a kind and generous family man who always put others'needs before his own.
His vibrant personality and laugh will be
sorely missed by all who knew him.
Edward is predeceased by his beloved wife Louise, nee Hoffman.
He had a devoted family – he is survived by his two sons, Edward, his wife Anne, and Ronald, grandchildren, Barbara, Diane, Christine, Kerri and Keith,
15 great-grandchildren,one great-great- grandchild,
and his daughter-in-law Sherry.
Edward has three sisters, Evelyn, Doris and the late Margaret.
