Conway — It is said death leaves a shining mark. On December 19, 1932, the death angel came and took from us Mrs. Van Delia Belche, our loved one. She was born near Conway in 1838 and the daughter of the late Jesse and Rebecca Johnson. In early youth she accepted God as her Savior and joined the Zion Methodist Church, where she remained a faithful member until disabled to attend.

When twenty-five years of age, she married the late Robert Belche of Conway, NC. To this union were born seven children, Mrs. J. E. Sumner and P. P. Belche of Conway, Jesse Belche of Rich Square, Mrs. Frank Futrell of Potecasi and Mrs. E. W. Reames of Murfreesboro, who survive her; Roland and Fannie who preceded her to the great beyond. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Bart Francis of Boykins, VA; 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 21, at her home by the Rev. G. B. Starling. She was laid to rest in the family cemetery.
