She was born in East Chicago, IN, and was a printer-design supervisor for Hewlett-Packard. Survivors include her daughter, Yvette Mauricia of Berkley; sons: Bernard Mauricia of Murrieta and Juan Carlos Mauricia of Arizona; mother, Petra Ortiz of Indiana; sisters: Lucy Sendejas (late Salvador), Juanita Sendejas (Vidal), and Mary Lopez (Tony), all of Indiana; brothers: Roman Ortiz (Victoria), Louie Ortiz (Mary), Thomas Ortiz Theresa, Issac Ortiz (Virginia), all of Indiana, the Rev. Michael Ortiz of San Diego, Edward Ortiz (Hilda) of Virginia, Anthony Ortiz (Barbara) of North Carolina, Mike Ortiz (Marcella) of Arizona, the late Anicetus Ortis (Anita) and the late Augustine Ortiz. Viewing was held on January, 30, 2006; Mass was celebrated on January 31, 2006 at Good Shepard Catholic Church, San Diego. Interment was January 31, 2006 at El Camino Memorial Park. The Ortiz Family and Rev. Ortiz are planning a memorial mass to be celebrated in Indiana in the near future.
