Robert Emmett Fox, 57, of Missoula, died Wednesday in a local nursing home following an extended illness.
He was born Nov 21, 1925, in Bathgate, ND to Emmett and Matilda Fox. He was raised and attended schools in Bathgate and Minnesota. He enlisted in the Navy Jan 20, 1944 and was honorably discharged Nov 2, 1946.
After his discharge he moved to Montana and married Jean Stick in Havre on Dec 27, 1949.
Mr. Fox was employed in the construction business and worked in Butte, Great Falls, and East Helena. He moved to Missoula two years ago. He was a member of the Helen Kiwanis Club and was active in the labor union in Helena. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Robert G.; three daughters, Julie Loraas, Shari Falconburg, and Laura Hodge. Three sisters: Betty Church and Frances Godbout, both of Missoula, and Margie Lallo of San Jose. Five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 3:30pm at the Retz Funeral Home in Helena. Local arrangements are under the direction of Livingston-Malletta and Geraghty Funeral Home.

As a child he lived with his parents and grandparents - August Eisbrener and Justine Milke Eisbrener, on their farm in Bathgate, Pembina, North Dakota.
Later when the farm was sold, his family moved to live with his Great Aunt Sarah Fox (who raised his father Emmett) in her home in Minneapolis, MN.
He graduated from Marshall High School in Minneapolis in 1943.
One month after he was released from the Navy, he was in a car accident in Minneapolis and was hospitalized for several months. He worked in Minneapolis at the Seven-Up Bottling Company. Later when his brother-in-law opened the Seven-Up Bottling in Butte, Montana he also moved there. He met his wife, Jean, in Montana.
