He moved with his mother, brother and sisters and wife to Webster, Washtenaw Co., Michigan in May of 1839 from Romulus, Seneca Co., New York...He had taught school in Seneca Co., New York and met his wife there. She was a pupil. He was a good mathematician.

In Webster, Washtenaw Co., Michigan he was a farmer and teacher. In later years he retired and he and his wife moved to Jackson, Jackson Co., Mich. They lived not far away from the Richard Waldron's.

His brother that moved with him was Zebedee Waldron.

William Richard was 12 years old when his father (Richard Waldron 1791-1826) died from typhoid fever, while fighting in the Indian War.

He was at one time the Director of Washtenaw Mutual Fire Insurance Company, this company was organized in 1858 by Munnis Kenny (grandfather of Eliza Kenny, who would marry W.R.Waldron's son, Warren Hamilton Waldron).
