Comedian, Actor, Entertainer. One of the greatest performers from the Philippines, Dolphy's career was entirely performed in his home country: it started in 1944 as a stage performer and after World War II ended, he shifted to movies and later crossed over to television and also radio as well, continuing until his death. His most significant roles most recognizable by Filipinos are gay roles in various movies from the 1950's up to the 2000's and in the TV shows John en Marsha in the 1970's (in which he played John, alongside Nida Blanca as Marsha), and Home Along Da Riles in the 1990's (in which he played Kevin Kosme).Filipino Comedian, Film and TV Actor, & Dancer. He was dubbed as the Filipino "King of Comedy" born in Tondo, Manila. As a child, he sold out watermelon and peanut seeds at movie theaters which allowed him to watch movies for free. He started his acting career when he was 19 years old age in the movie with Fernando Poe, Sr. in Dugo at Bayan (I Remember Bataan). In the late 1940s, he got in radio through Conde Ubaldo and there he met his comedy duo named "Panchito." During the early 50s, he was signed to work in Sampaguita Pictures alongside with Panchito. There the duo became famous. His sooner films included comic adaptations of "Silveria, Captain Barbell, and Facifica Falayfay." Soon in his career he began to play a parody of "James Bond - 007" as he portrayed himself as "Genghis Bond - Agent 123" in films like: "Dr. Yes, Dressed To Kill, Dolpinger, Dolpinger: Agent sa Lagim, Dolpinger Meets Pantarorong,(1965) James Batman, and Operation Butterball (1966)." He also became famous in the TV series "Buhay Artista (1964-1972)" with Panchito and "Home Along D Riles (1992)." His personal life involved personal relationship with different women notably Zsa Zsa Padilla and he has numerous children. He died on July 10, 2012 due to pulmonary disease.
