"Mark Blakeslee Dies in Eldred After Long Illness - Mark Blakeslee, a resident of Eldred since 1915, died at the home of Mr and Mrs S P Herman, North Main St, Eldred, at
4:50 pm yesterday, after an illness of two years. He was born Aug 27, 1871, in Spartansburg, Pa, and was employed by the Tide Water Pipe Co as a gauger until his retirement in 1941. He was a member of the Eldred Methodist Church, the Eldred Masonic Lodge and the Coudersport Consistory. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs Louise Billings, Capital Height, Washington, DC, and a grandson, John Blakeslee, Naperville, Ill. Funeral services, under the direction of the Koch-Chatley Memorial Chapel, are pending the arrival of his daughter."

"Mark Blakeslee Rites Held Here - Funeral services for Mark Blakeslee were held Saturday. A prayer service at the home of Sanford Herman, Eldred, was followed by services in the First Methodist Church of Eldred with the Rev William E Slocum, pastor, officiating. Burial was in McKean Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, all members of Eldred Masonic Lodge, were Glen Rice, Dee Wright, William Todd, Frank Black, Russell Downey and Merle Root. Frank Schick, Sr, Ed Pollock, Llewelyn Barnaby and Henry Wallen, also members of the lodge, were honorary bearers. Raymond Curtis, grand master, and Louis J Coleman, chaplain, conducted committal services at the grave."
