Rev. John C. Ault passed away at his home in this town, Thursday, January 12, after a lingering illness. The funeral services were conducted from Union church north of town. The obituary will appear next week.

J. C. Ault was born in Van Wert county, Ohio, June 24, 1843, and died at his home in Willshire, January 12, 1911, aged 67 years, 6 months and 18 days.
Deceased was married to Sarah E. Shaffer, January 26, 1868. To this union were born five children, two of whom survive. His companion departed this life October 16, 1877, at Auburn, Ind. He was next married to Mary J. Shaffer, January 6, 1878. To this union was born one child, still surviving. His companion died April 3, 1907, at her home near Willshire. He was again married, March 7, 1908 to Nancy Gaunt, who still survives him. He leaves to mourn, his wife and three children: William Ault, of Wabash, Ind.; Parmelia Wolfe, of Rockford, O.; Anna Krick, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two step-sons and one step-daughter, six grandchildren, one sister, one brother, two half-brothers, four half-sisters and a host of friends and relatives. He was converted in early life and united with the U. B. Church, and lived a faithful Christian through life, receiving license to preach by the Wren conference, April 8, 1899.
Deceased enlisted in the United States service at the beginning of the Civil War and remained until the close, serving four years, four months and twelve days. The pall-bearers were members of the Willshire Post, G.A.R. Funeral services were held at Union U. B. church. Rev. Roberts, of that charge, conducted the services. Interment at Mt. Tabor cemetery.

The funeral of Rev. J. B. Ault was held at Willshire, Monday. The Rev. Ault was a resident there twenty years and was a minister in the Liberal U. B. church. He was 67 years of age. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Roberts, of Wren. (1-18-1911)
