Funeral services for Jessie Franklin Kirkman, Sr., 81, of 3016 Mitchell St. will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Coker-Mathews-Peters Chapel, with the Rev. W.L. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.

Mr. Kirkman died Friday morning in a Bonham hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1894 in Tennessee to John Kirkman and Beatrice McInire. He was married May 25, 1919 in Dry Creek to Lucy King. She preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1975. He was married to Lena Sanders June 9, 1975 in Greenville. He was an Army veteran of World War One, and was retired from the clothing store business. He was a member of the Pentacost (sic) Church of God.

Survivors are five sons, J.F. Kirkman, Jr., of Cash, Arvin W. Kirkman of Pecos, Clarence J. Kirkman of Canyon, Marvin W. Kirkman of Port Lavaca, and Kenneth F. Kirkman of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Christine C. Shanks of Garland, and Mrs. E. Jobe of Mesquite; a sister, Mrs. Arlin Faye Forrison (sic) of Greenville; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Aso preceding him in death besides his wife Lucy, were his parents, a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
