Robert Ellison Edwards, primarily known by his nickname, Bob, was born June 30, 1952 in Long Beach, California. A longtime Garden Grove resident of nearly forty years, Bob grew up in Anaheim and graduated from Magnolia High School.

A self-employed man, Bob owned Edward's Backhoe Service where he worked hard to the bone each day— operating the backhoe himself. Taking a physical toll on him, after over thirty years in the business, Bob retired and went on to enjoy being a grandfather.

Bob's passing was a shock— especially right on his 60th birthday. He was out on the Colorado River with his son and a friend, water skiing, and having a great time. He suffered a heart attack and never regained consciousness. It's probably the way he would have wanted it to be— going out doing one of the things he loved in life.

Bob loved his family and was especially proud of his son Jason and his young grandson Scott. He loved the ocean, fishing, surfing, dove hunting and water skiing.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Jason; daughter-in-law, Suzanne; grandson, Scott; and sisters, Shelley, Diane and Carol. He was close to his brothers in law, sisters in law and cousins. He had good friends, a large family, and touched many lives. He was a good man, and a good father. We will all miss him terribly. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley (2008) & Robert (2010) Edwards.

Arrangements were under the direction of Westminster Memorial Park, and memorial gathering was held in August 2012 at the Edwards family home in Garden Grove, and was attended by many.
