Lee attended Schemm School and Winner Public School. He lived a very full life working at many different jobs in various locations. He first worked for the CCC and later spent time in Idaho and Washington. He served three years in the United States Army and then worked in Alaska, Guam, Morocco and traveled quite a bit in Europe. Lee always learned a great deal about the people, the history and the countries he visited. He enjoyed this knowledge up until the time of his death.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Mary Petersen, and three brothers Bud, Henry and Pete and one sister Lou Riley. Survivors include one sister Martha Litzo of Aurora, Co and numerous nieces and nephews.
Servies for Lee Petersen were held Saturday, September 26, 1992 at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines. Fr. Carl Ferris officiated at the 10:00 service. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery.
