the following article appeared in THE SAC COUNTY DEMOCRAT on Friday, 18 Nov 1892, page 5:

"Mrs. M. E. Wright, wife of the Supervisor elect from Eden Township, died at her home Tuesday evening."

The following obituary for Lucretia Wright appeared in a Sac County, Iowa, newspaper:

"DIED--At her home in Eden Township on Tuesday, November 15, 1892, of nervous protration and paralysis, after an illness of about eighteen months, Mrs. M. E. Wright, aged 53 years, 8 months and 11 days.

"Her maiden name was Lucretia Morgan, and her birth place was Sutton, Canada, March 4, 1839.

"She was married to Oscar Moore at Potsdam, New York, May 20, 1864. Mr. Moore had served three years in the war [Civil War], re-enlisted, came home on a furlough, was married, and they came to National, Clayton County, Iowa. He returned to the army and died in a short time. June 6, 1867, she was married to M. E. Wright at Potsdam, New York, and moved to Franklin County, New York, where they lived one year and then moved to Madison County, Iowa, living there about eight years, and then came to Sac County, where she lived sixteen years. She leaves a husband and three sons to mourn her loss. She was the oldest child of J. C. and Ruth Morgan, both living, but very feeble. she was the first of six sisters and two brothers to be called away. One brother, N. C. Morgan, of Arville, North Dakota, and two sisters, Susan B. Allen, of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Samantha Pierce, of Larmore, North Dakota, were summoned but did not get here until after her death.

"Mrs. Wright was a member of the M[ethodist] E[piscopal] Church at Early and was a devoted Christian, loved by all who knew her, always ready to attend the sick so long as her health would permit.

"The funeral services were held at the German M. E. Church in Eden Township, Rev. Yetter preaching the sermon from Revelation 14:13. The church was well filled with neighbors and friends and a long procession followed her remains to Pleasant Hill Cemetery where she was laid to rest.

"The bereaved wish to thank the kind friends who aided them in their recent trouble."

NOTE: The above article refers to Pleasant Hill Cemetery, which appears to be a previous name for what is now called Chase Cemetery, containing less than 20 graves, located on a small hill in Sac County near Schaller, Iowa. It is designated a "pioneer cemetery" and no burials take place there today. Those who have visited there say it is peaceful and lovely and could indeed have been described as 'pleasant'. It takes it's current name from the Chase family, which, it is said, set up an endowment for it's upkeep.
