Maurice passed away peacefully on June 1, 2012 (Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus).

He is survived by his wife Maggie of 47 years, children Deborah, Bridget (Joe), Desmond (Stephanie), grandchildren Tevyn and Ryynn. Also survived by sister Molly (Ernie), brothers Gerry (Doreen) and Eric (Pauline) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Harold and Esther Cooper and brother, Raymond.

Maurice had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was a humble, humorous, and intelligent man who believed in the good of people. He worked many years in the healthcare industry and was an avid reader, hockey enthusiast, and especially valued Sunday family dinners.

Friends, family and his dialysis family are invited to attend Maurice's Prayer Service at St. Anthony's Parish (5340- 4 Street Southwest Calgary) this evening (Monday, June 4, 2012) at 7:00 p.m. and his Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Reception will follow at St. Anthony's Parish Hall.

A wonderful son, husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed and loved forever.
