J.C. Ransom, 79, of Fairdealing died Friday June 29, 2012, at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Ransom was born January 21, 1933 to the late James Curtis & Agnes (Gyngard) Ransom. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Doniphan High School in 1952 and was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church, where he was song leader for many years. Mr. Ransom enjoyed spending time at the Library, reading, avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, wearing Hawaiian Shirts; he always had a smile and handshake for everyone. Mr. Ransom first worked for oil companies in Saudi Arabia and Libya, then moved back to Ripley County where he was self-employed in the Insurance and Real Estate Markets.

On March 16, 1957, he married Frieda Mae (Ormsby) in Doniphan, MO. She died April 1, 2003.

Survivors include one daughter Candace Starr Ransom of Doniphan with whom he enjoyed spending time.

Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery with full Military Honors.
