Mr. Manda Ray Farrar, 63, of Hillhaven Convalescent Center, died Saturday, March 11.

Mr. Farrar was born in Orange County and attended the Orange County Training School.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Second Baptist Church of Chapel Hill by the Rev. Ernest L. McCowan. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Farrar is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Theresa Merriman, Mrs. Ivey Mitchell, Ms. Gloria Degraffenried, Ms. Helen Degraffenried, Ms. Betty Degraffenried, Ms. Julie Degraffenried and Ms. Charlene Degraffenried, all of Chapel Hill; a stepdaughter, Ms. Rosa Degraffenried of Chapel Hill; a sister, Mrs. Nellie O'Neal of Chapel Hill; five brothers, Mr. Alexander Farrar of Durham, Mr. Wallace Farrar, Mr. Curtis Farrar, Mr. Thomas Farrar, all of Chapel Hill, and Mr. Alex Bolin of Chatham County; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive visitors from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, and other times at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ivey Mitchell, Glen Lennox Apartments, 164 Hayes Road, Chapel Hill.
