John T. Lavin, 54, of Ridgewood, passed away on Saturday, March 17.

He was the beloved husband of Liz (nee Jadick), and loving father of Matthew, Sarah and Olivia. John was the cherished brother of Susan Hawkins and husband Cecil, Mary Anne Kastor and husband Ed and Lili Ingersoll. He is survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anne and Theodore Jadick, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He attended Temple University and graduated from William Paterson College.

John had a long career in sales and marketing in the packaging industry. A parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood, John spent 14 years participating in the Somerville/Hawes Dad's Night program and was the unofficial photographer for the Ridgewood High School football team. He was a great booster of all of Ridgewood's developmental sports programs and took great pride in his children's participation. An avid golfer, John greatly enjoyed his family vacations on Nantucket Island.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Feeney Funeral Home, 232 Franklin Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450, 201-444-7650 . Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, 1 Passaic Street, Ridgewood. Burial will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
