G.P. Brazil, a native of Greenville, died at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday in a local rest home following an illness of several years.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews-Peters funeral home. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.

Mr. Brazil was born Jan. 21, 1870, in Greenville, the son of Mose and Molly Vaughn Brazil. He was reared in Greenville and moved to Channing, West Texas where he operated a hotel and was in the mercantile business for 40 years. He returned to Greenville in 1940.

He was married to Miss Della Elizabeth Renfro, who preceded him in death March 11, 1952. One daughter, Mrs. Mabel Lamar aso preceded him.

Mr. Brazil was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Otto Gross, Greenville, and Mrs. Della Lloyd, Austin and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
