AKINS, William F. 82, June 25, 2012, of Hudson. Loving husband of Mary (McMullen) Akins of Hudson for 48 years. Devoted father of Janice Akins-Fournier of Northboro, William John Akins of Quincy, Susan Burns of Stow. Also survived by 3 grandchildren; his sister in-law, Judith Akins of Dorchester, wife of the late Paul Akins and was the brother of the late Philip, Paul, James and Mary Akins and Dorothy Smith.

Born in Boston, son of the late Philip and Mary (Hughes) Akins; graduate of Rindge Technical H.S. in Cambridge and graduate of Bentley College. Retired Director of Finance for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) in Boston. Long time resident of Hudson and former member of the Hudson Finance Committee and Hudson Planning Board. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 30th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St, HUDSON, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com).
