Abbott, William F. Jr. 82, beloved husband of Shirley (Mulligan) Abbott, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening.

Born in Boston, he is the son of the late William and Mary (Nagle) Abbott.

William is survived by two sons: William Abbott III and his wife Linda of Beverly and John Abbott of Danvers; one daughter: Kristin Kelly and her husband Tom of Hamilton; ten grandchildren: Katelin Cassidy and her husband Kevin of Danvers, Allison Cox of Hamilton, Christopher Abbott and his wife Rebecca of Lynn, Jonathan, William, Patrick and Matthew DeIulis all of Salem, Quinlan and Broderick Kelly of Hamilton; son-in-law: Patrick DeIulis of Salem; brother and sister-in-law: Joseph and Carol Mulligan of Beverly.

He is predeceased by his daughter Susan DeIulis, his son Thomas Abbott, and his sister Mary (Abbott) Mahoney and her husband Tom.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, BEVERLY (North Beverly Location) on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in William's Memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215 or the American Diabetes Association , 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
