German Philosopher. Known as the major exponent of Idealism, along with Hegel and Fichte. He was professor of Philosophy at the University of Jena, where he joined the current Romantic known as " Sturm und Drang ", and helped to the publication of the magazine "Critic Zeitung der Philosophie". His thought was initially influenced by the ideas of Kant. He later taught at Wurzburg, Erlangen, Munich, and since 1841 at the University of Berlin. During the past years of his teaching, he developed the last phase of his thought, in open polemic against Hegelian idealism, reaffirming the primacy of the concept of " Sein " through self-denial of Dialectical Reason. He wrote several works of Philosophy, Theology, Ethics, Aesthetics and History of Philosopy, including "Übersicht Allgemeine Literatur der neuesten philosophischen", "Ideen zu einer Philosophie der Natur", "System des transcendentalen Idealismus", "Philosophie der Kunst", "Philosophie und Religion".
