Maxine Smith, 87, Stanley, WI, died Monday, February 8, 1999 at Victory Medical Center, Stanley, WI.
Maxine was born May 19, 1911 to Edwin and Etta (Moses) Carmien and was raised in the Stanley area. She married Ervin Smith on September 6, 1928 at Stanley, WI. They lived and farmed in the Worden and Edson area and in 1971 moved to Stanley, WI, where she has lived since.
Surviving two daughters: Mary Lee (Donald) Schmitz of Stanley, WI, June (Teddy) Shilts of Stanley, WI three sons: Jack (Alice) Smith of Chippewa Falls, WI, James Smith and Richard (June) Smith both of Stanley, WI 69 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents husband Ervin in 1980, sons John in 1955, Bruce in 1974 and Scott in 1989.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 1999 at Stanley Church of the Brethren with Rev. Jerry Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Edson Union Cemetery, Boyd. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley.
