W.R. Alexander of Salt Lake City, a painter and paper hanger by trade, was brought to the local hospital from Greys River Tuesday, suffering with ptomaine poison, which he had received from eating a can of corn.
The deceased was in a dying condition when they arrived in Afton, and lived less than two hours after he reached the hospital.
Mr. Alexander and Frank Hilton both of Salt Lake City, came to Star Valley about ten days ago on a fishing trip and had been camping in the vicinity of the Greys River bridge since their arrival. About four days ago he came ill and gradually grew worse until death claimed him about four o'clock Tuesday Afternoon.
The deceased was fifty-two years of age, and as far as is known had no living relatives. He was a member of the Odd Fellow's lodge in Salt Lake City which organization took charge of the body and shipped it to the Utah capitol where the funeral will be held today
Mr Alexander had resided in Utah for a great many years and it is reported was quite wealthy..
