Audrey Willett, 82, of 18 Ridgeway, Saranac Lake, died Friday March 11, 2011 at the Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.
Born in Batavia on Nov. 9, 1928, she was the daughter of Mark and Elsie (Lesso) Kroldart. She married Richard "Ray" Willett on July 6, 1946 in Saranac Lake. He predeceased her on Sept. 2, 2008.
Audrey was a lifelong resident of the area and had been employed at the American Management Association in the payroll and personnel department for 25 years. She later was employed at the Hyde Fuel Company for 14 years until her retirement 2005. Audrey was a life member of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed her family, reading and computer work.
She is survived by five children: Richard Willette and his wife Janice of Cat Spring, Texas, Sharon Bowman and her husband Charles of Peru, Rodger Willett and his wife Patricia of Bloomingdale, Robert Willette and his wife Ann of Vermontville and Linda Willett of Plattsburgh; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Willette and Antoinette Willette both of Saranac Lake; one brother-in-law Gabriel "Bucky" Willette and his wife Connie of Saranac Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, mother, three grandchildren and four brothers.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A memorial service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17 at the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Richards of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in the spring.
