"Winnie Wright was born January 17, 1873, in Madison County, Iowa, and died May 25, 1891.

"She was taken sick on Wednesday of last week, with a spinal difficulty, and passed away Monday night at eleven o'clock.

"Winnie was a member of the M[ethodist] E[piscopal] Church in Early, having been received by Rev. J. J. Gardner, during his pastorate at this place.

"The funeral services were held in the German Methodist Church, northwest of the Wright home.

"The procession was a beautiful sight being more than a half mile in length.

"Bro. Gardner of Storm Lake was present and kindly assisted in the services.

"This sudden death should cause the young people to think seriously, and realize that even in the bloom of youth we are liable to death. The old must die, the young may."
[From a Sac County newspaper, 1891; obituary by E. G. Swem.]
